Shamanism, Psychology, and Mental Health.
A Shaman has a certain position in a traditional culture in different parts of the world. They are a counselor, a teacher, a therapist, a healer. There are more roles that they have. A Psychologist, in today's society, works with people on a certain level by talking about their issues, and finding solutions in a safe way.
We can be our own therapist and Shaman by spending time looking into ourselves, our lives, and making the choices that we know are right for us. If we haven't been listening to our heart for a long time it can be hard to hear, but with dedication and love it becomes easier and easier to do the next right thing.
Hi JC! It's the rando chick from New Carrolton that asked you directions to the bathroom. I look forward to reading all of your blog posts in depth so that we can have some healthy debates. I already have one question: When you say "God", do you mean the Abrahamic God? Or do you refer to the more new age / generalized definition of a universal higher power? This isn't a sharpshooting question, just trying to gauge where we are at.
ReplyDeleteHey there! Well some of the other posts in the blog go more in depth into my beliefs, especially Self Inquiry, The Depth Book and The God Walk. To talk about it in a nutshell, I think of God as being universal to all people, not just one religion, and I don't think you have to follow one religion to live a good life, or find God. I have more thoughts about it, hope we can chat more. If you're comfortable with it you can email me, my email is on the title section of the home page. Or we can chat here. Peace ✌🏾
